The Abbey of San Biagio in Piobbico, Sarnano, in the province of Macerata, has been restored to its former glory after post-earthquake renovations, with Sepe Group overseeing the project for the past 12 months.
It was a complex and rewarding project, carried out with expertise and dedication, due to the significant value this abbey holds in the hearts of the Sarnanese community. Given the acknowledged importance of the renovation, the work was completed in less time than originally expected. The abbey dates back to the 11th century and houses beautiful frescoes from the 1500s. The religious building suffered severe damage from the earthquakes of 2016. Sepe Group’s work focused on preserving the damaged parts and reinforcing the structure to safeguard it from future earthquakes.
Sepe Constructions has completed the seismic improvement of the abbey, along with the renovation and restoration of the interior frescoes, after securing and reinforcing the building's walls to preserve the integrity of the decorations throughout the work.
